Description
"Gypsy Girl" was enacted in the Nizip district of Gaziantep, on the borded of the Fırat river in 1998 and since that became the symbol of the ancient city Zeugma. Its vibrant colors, the sorrow in the figure's eyes, and its missing parts have made the mosaic more mysterious and astonishing.
Its contested that the face belongs either to a gypsy girl, Alexander the Great, Gaia; or the God of Earth. The missing parts of the story has made it more appealing and interesting to its observers.
